Pause for this Brief Conscious Break

We break your regular blog-ver-sa-tion programming for... "Forgotten Faces" by Mustafa Davis

This is another film that had me in tears while shooting and while editing. Not tears of sorrow but tears of thankfulness for having had the chance to meet the beautiful people in this film.

Several of the people in this film passed away shortly after I shot this footage. The two children in the hospital died before we could get back the next day to check on them. This footage could literally be the only visual documentation of their lives. All of the young people in this film are orphans except for Gift, the 14 year old boy who starts and ends the film. (You may remember him from my film "In The Hands of God" as the young boy pushing his father in the wheelchair).

The troubled eyes and beautiful faces tell stories more potent and real than any words could ever do. This film tells a million stories. The real stories are locked deep with their souls and only God knows the reality of what they have experienced and what they have felt.
